Tainan Motor Vehicles Office 11/20(Sat): will conduct weekend motorcycle license examination and traffic safety training.

ContentFor the purpose of servicing office workers and students applying for driving licenses on weekends, the Tainan Motor Vehicles Office will offer weekend motorcycle license examination services (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) on November 20, 2021 (Saturday), as well as traffic safety training for those who are required to attend due to traffic violations.
Please visit the Motor Vehicles Office Website (https://www.mvdis.gov.tw/) or download the Motor Vehicles Office App for registration. The former link can be accessed by clicking Examination Registration → License Appointment → Enter the type of license, expected examination date, and examination location (click on Chiayi District Motor Vehicles Office before clicking on Tainan Motor Vehicles Office), or go to the nearest Motor Vehicles Office (Station) where you can register via the multi-functional counter.
Prior to registering for a motorcycle license examination, applicants must first complete a 3-part hazard awareness video assessment! Online registration is available 30 days prior to the examination date and expires at 24:00 on the day before the examination date (i.e., you cannot make a reservation on the same day). For those who are unable to take the examination on the day of the examination, please cancel your reservation no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of the examination or call the office during service hours to cancel your reservation. Failure to attend three appointments within two months will result in a two-month suspension (the suspension date will be counted from the last appointment date), which may affect your rights!
In order to reduce the number of casualties in motorcycle A1 and A2 accidents, the Directorate General of Highways issued a press release on April 8, 2021, stating that staring from May 3, 2021, automobile license holders applying for a motorcycle license will still be required to take a written test in order to maintain driving safety.
Procedure of License Examination:
1. Sign-in for the motorcycle examination from 08:00 to 08:30.
2. Lectures for first-time examiners will be held from 08:30 to 10:30.
3. Written test and road test will start at 08:10, and will be taken on a drop-in basis, with the road test to follow after passing the written test.
4. Traffic safety training sign-in time is at 08:30, classes are held from 09:00 to 12:00. (No extra-region substitute training or DUI training classes are accepted)
Please note the following:
1. Please bring your original ID card, 3 photos (1-inch frontal half-body color photo taken within the last 2 years with a plain background and hat off with clear 5 facial features, no composite photos are allowed, the five facial features include eyes, ears, eyebrows, nose and mouth), a qualified medical examination form and a lightweight motorcycle driver's license (for those applying for a written test exemption).
2. Applicants who have not completed the physical examination are not allowed to apply.
3. Those who have not completed their lectures will not be allowed to take the written test or road test. If you have completed your lectures within one year, or if you have a lightweight motorcycle driver's license, or if you have had your license suspended or revoked, please go to the written test room or road test site at the above mentioned time after completing your application.
4. Any traffic violation incidents should be addressed prior during service hours.
5. In order to meet the needs of pandemic prevention, candidates are requested to wear masks, wash their hands diligently, keep a safe social distance, and register in order to reduce the risk of transmission of the disease.
