Tainan Motor Vehicles Office to hold four additional "Holiday Hours" on July 31 and August 7, 2021, for motorcycle license examination

ContentAs the Central Epidemic Command Center has downgraded the pandemic alert standard to Level 2 effective as of July 27 to August 9, the Tainan Motor Vehicles Office has designated two consecutive Saturdays, July 31 and August 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 13:00 p.m. to 17:00 p.m., a total of four sessions are scheduled to be available for the holiday motorcycle license examinations in order to avoid mass gatherings during the pandemic. Registration will not be accepted on-site during the pandemic; only online registrations will be accepted, so hurry up and apply for your registration!
Procedures for license examinations:
1. Registration time: 08:00 to 08:30.
2. Introductory training courses for first-time examinees will be held from 08:30 to 10:30.
3. Written tests and road tests are scheduled to begin from 08:10 and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, with the road test to follow after qualifying in the written test.
To maintain the quality of the examination services, comprehensive online registrations are adopted, with 50 quotas for each morning and afternoon; on-site registrations are not accepted. Instead, please visit the Motor Vehicles Office website (https://www.mvdis.gov.tw/) or download the Motor Vehicles Office app to apply for registration, with the former clicking on the path of Examination Registration → License Appointment Registration → entering the type of license applied for, the expected examination date, and the location of the examination (first clicking Chiayi District Motor Vehicles Office, then clicking Tainan Supervision Motor Vehicles Office), or registering at the nearest Motor Vehicles Office(Station) through the comprehensive function counter.
Online registrations will be available 30 days prior to the examination date and will be posted until 24:00 on the day prior to the examination date (i.e., no registrations can be made on the same day of the examination). If you are unable to attend the examination on the day scheduled, please cancel your appointment no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of your examination, or call to cancel during the service hours of the station where the registration was made. Failure to attend on three occasions within two months will result in a two-month suspension of privileges (the suspension date will be counted from the last registration), which will affect your rights and interests.
Since September 2019, individuals are required to complete the Hazard Perception Assessment prior to registering for a motorcycle license examination.
In order to reduce the number of deaths and injuries in A1 and A2 motorcycle accidents, the Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications issued a press release on April 8, 2021, stating that since May 3, 2021, automobile driver's license holders who are applying for a motorcycle driver's license will be required to take a written test in order to maintain driving safety.
Remarks:
1. Please have your official ID card, three photos (1-inch frontal half-body colored photo taken within the last two years with a plain background, hat off, with visible facial features; No composite photos are allowed; Facial features include eyes, ears, eyebrows, nose, and mouth), a certified physical examination form, and your lightweight motorcycle driver's license (for those applying for a written test exemption).
2. Applicants who have not completed the physical examination are not allowed to apply; please complete your physical examinations at least one day prior to license examinations.
3. Those who have not completed training will not be allowed to take the written test nor the road test. If you have completed training or have a light motorcycle driver's license, it is not necessary to further do so; proceed to the written test room or the road test site according to the time mentioned above after completing your registration.
4. Any traffic violation cases should be handled prior to the examination, during regular working days of the site.
5. In order to meet the needs of pandemic prevention, candidates are requested to wear masks, perform conduct name registration, and maintain a safe social distance to reduce the risk of transmission.
6. In the event of a natural disaster (such as an escalation of the pandemic alert standard), all registrations will be canceled, and candidates will be instructed to re-register.
