  • I received a violation ticket, but the vehicle was driven by someone else, and his driver’s license was issued by XX (station) Office, what should I do?

    The owner should apply before the due date, please carry (1) the seals of the vehicle owner and driver. (2) Driver’s license of the driver. (3) The original copy of the violation ticket and the evidence picture; after filling up all information, please hand them to the General Mail Office. The Office will mail the driver after all transfer procedures are done.

  • What fees should I pay if I want to transfer my vehicle?

    Handling vehicle transfer should pay up all unpaid fees, taxes, fines plus 200 NTD for driving permit fee.

  • I was drunk while driving, and the police slapped a lien on my car because they found my alcohol consistency is 0.5 mg. I don’t have enough money to pay the fine; may I use my driver’s license to substitute?

    No. According to Article 35 of Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act, the motorcycle driver shall be fined from NT$15,000 to NT$90,000, the car driver shall be fined NT$30,000 to NT$120,000, and the driver license shall be suspended for 1 to 2 years.

  • My vehicle is insured, but why was I still being accused of being against “Vehicle Compulsory Insurance”?

    (2)The insurance record that the company uploaded is not correct, it might be wrong or is blank for its vehicle number.

  • The fuel fee of the year starts to be levied, what should I do if I haven’t got my payment notice?

    First, you can ask for the notice by phone during the levying period, and we will send it to you again. Second, you can use telephone account transfer system to pay the fuel fee; the telephone number is 412-1366/41-1366(it is for the area with 6-digit landline number) ext.169#. Third, you can use our website to pay your fuel fee. During the climax time of the levying period, we will also open plus window to help people handling the payment procedure.

  • What’s the penalty rules on fuel fee overdue?

    According to Article 75 of Highway Law, if the owner of the vehicle doesn’t pay up fuel fee in time, and still not pay after being notified overdue, will be punished with fine of more than 300 NTD but less than 3000 NTD, and meanwhile be suspended to handle vehicle alteration.

  • I’ve already had my scrapped procedure done, how should I apply for vehicle license tax and fuel fee?

    The Motor Vehicle Office will automatically send you the tax refund notice if you already done your scrapped procedure, cancellation, theft cancellation, no transferring cancellation, or vehicle fuel overpaid, each Station will send the fuel fee refund letter, and the car owner does not have to apply. License tax should be separately handled in the Tax Administration of the jurisdiction.

  • The verdict notice was received and signed by my brother, I didn’t know it at all, and how can you cancel my license?

    According to Article 72, 73 of Administration Procedures Laws, the verdict notice should be sent to the residence place, office or business place. If the target person is not able to notify, the verdict notice is allowed to give to reasonable co-habitant, employee or mail-dealing person.

    According to “Article 27 of Highway Law,” fuel fee is collected for road maintenance, building and security management, and is distributed for the use of urban road maintenance based on urban road regulations.

  • My license plate is cancelled directly, when can I start to use my vehicle?

    According to Article 66 of Road Traffic Management and Penalty Regulations, you cannot reapply for the license within six months if your license plate is directly cancelled; besides, you should not reapply unless you are considered being qualified by the road supervising agency.
